Well, it seems I really don´t like the way MicroSoft is said to make business, for example how they managed to kill DR DOS or IBM & MS OS/2.

Anyway today’s business workstations run on it and you´ll have to use it - and not all in it is bad.

Products i’m using on Windows XP:

• UltraEdit, THE editor
• FTP Voyager, for easy FTPing...
• ZoneAlarm, a personal firewall and why I use it.
• CDex for extracting mp3’s from CDs.and WinAmp (including AudioStocker Pro and R2 VIS) to play them!
• Startup Manager for cleaning wrong startup things like some windows folders coming up on every boot.
• CVSNT, CVSWEBNT and CVSWeb for versioning of software modules, CVSWEB on Apache Windows.
• Nice software for OS/2 and now Windows - modify your desktop with Object Desktop from Stardock.
• Good XML IDE: XMLSpy.
• Synchronize your Windows clock with the internet using YAST32.
• Perl for Windows from ActiveState
• Hauppauge WinTV
• A better vi than vi, vim download and a course on developerworks
